Tiago, our founder, grew up in Brazil. The people behind our coffee are part of our story, so we want to give something back.

In Mangueira, one of Rio de Janeiro's best-known favelas, many kids grow up without the education and support they need. Estrela da Favela helps them with school, guidance and room to grow. Many have gone on to technical schools, colleges and universities.

How fresh is the coffee I order?

We roast our coffee weekly in our own Amsterdam roastery and ship your order soon after roasting. That way you get the beans at their best, with maximum aroma and flavor.

What is the difference between your espresso and filter roasts?

Espresso roasts are bolder and roasted slightly darker, while filter roasts highlight subtle, fruity notes. We share recommendations on each product page.

How do I know which roast level suits me?

Light, medium, or dark? Each product includes taste notes and brew tips to help you find your perfect match.

Do you offer grind options?

Yes, we grind fresh for espresso, filter, French press and more. Or choose whole bean if you prefer to grind at home.

Do you offer sample packs?

Yes! Our taster boxes let you explore multiple origins and roast profiles, perfect if you're new to specialty coffee.
